Director of Sales, Motor Retailers Division

Following a brief spell in High Street Banking, Barry started his career in the motor trade in 1985 as an F & I Specialist for a major Finance Company. His main role was the recruitment and training of business managers and their management within dealerships, ensuring the maximisation of profits through promoting finance and general insurance products to retail customers.

This was followed by 10 years at a major motor manufacturer, firstly managing the field force responsible for assisting franchised dealers in the sale of Optional Extended Manufacturer Warranty and Extended Warranties, and for the last 5 years, introducing and managing the Manufacturer’s Approved Used Car Programme.

In May 2000 he moved to a Client Account Management position, for a company specialising in after sales marketing and customer retention and satisfaction, working with several UK based manufacturers before moving to Global Insurance Management Ltd (previously Lumley Auto Ltd) in Nov 2003.

He took up his new position as Director of Sales Motor Retailers Division in January 2005, and along with a dedicated field force, implements the company’s development and reporting programmes within motor dealerships, ensuring the products and services supplied best suit the clients' needs.

He works within the senior management team to promote Global insurance Management business philosophies, identifying business potential in the motor industry both in the UK and abroad.

Barry lives with his family in Cheshire.
